I have some very exciting news for you. Thanks to the help of tens of thousands of people like you around the country who have asked friends and family to sign the petition calling for a reduction in the abortion time limit, we passed our goal of getting 100,000 signatures. In fact, we reached an amazing 102,573 signatures last night!PETITION DELIVERED TO THE PM AT NUMBER TEN TODAY!After reaching this amazing milestone last night, parents of children who were born at 22 and 23 weeks gestation who are backing Caroline Ansell’s amendment met with a number of MPs at an event that was held in Parliament today. The MPs met the parents and their children to hear about their personal stories first-hand and learn about why they want to see the abortion time limit reduced to 22 weeks. Following the event at Parliament, the families and a large group of MPs headed to 10 Downing Street where they delivered the petition, signed by 102,573 people, to the Prime Minister! This is one of the largest petitions to be delivered to the Prime Minister over the last year and demonstrates the overwhelming support for this important pro-life change to the law. You can read more about today and see photos of the delivery of the petition to 10 Downing Street in the article we have just published on Right To Life News by clicking here.NEXT STEPSInitially it looked like the Report Stage of the Criminal Justice Bill and a vote on Caroline Ansell’s 22 week amendment was going to happen before Easter, but now the Government has confirmed that this is not the case. It will be happening after Easter. This gives us more time to build further momentum for this important life-saving change to our law.I will contact you shortly when the next development happens on this front. For now I want to again thank you for all your help with getting 102,573 signatures on the petition. Without you we would not have hit this amazing milestone and the delivery of the petition to the Prime Minister today would not have had such an impact! Thank you so much.Best wishes,Catherine RobinsonRight To Life UK

Dear Canon Kavanagh,I hope you and your parish are well.Last month, we shared that two extreme abortion amendments had been tabled to hijack the Criminal Justice Bill.

I am pleased to let you know that they were withdrawn

before going to a vote

but we anticipate they will return in a similar format at Report Stage of the Bill.

February  2024.

Diana Johnson has tabled a new extreme abortion up to birth amendment ahead of the Report Stage of the Government’s flagship Criminal Justice Bill. This proposed extreme change to the law would likely lead to a tragic increase in the number of babies’ lives being ended through late-term abortions performed at home.Pro-abortion campaigners are flooding MPs’ inboxes with emails asking them to put their name to the new amendment and vote in support of it at Report Stage. It is vital at this point that MPs see that they have a large number of constituents who are opposed to this extreme change to the law and they must not support this amendment. TAKE ACTION NOWWe have just launched an easy-to-use toolon our website that makes it simple for you to send an email to your MP asking them to oppose Diana Johnson’s amendment. Please click the button below to contact your MP now. Dear Canon Kavanagh, I wanted to let you know that Baroness O’Loan’s Abortion (Gestational Time Limit Reduction) Bill has received a First Reading in the House of Lords. There have been huge advances in medical science in the 33 years since 1990 when the abortion time limit was lowered from 28 weeks to 24 weeks. The survival rate for extremely premature babies has doubled over the last decade alone, prompting new guidance from the British Association of Perinatal Medicine that enables doctors to intervene to save premature babies from 22 weeks gestation. This leaves a real contradiction in British law: in one room of a hospital, doctors could be working to save a baby born alive at 23 weeks, whilst, in another room of that same hospital, a doctor could perform an abortion that would end the life of a baby at the same age. Our abortion time limit of 24 weeks is also unusually high compared to the majority of European Union countries. In fact, it is double that of the most common time limit for abortion on demand or social grounds among European Union countries, which is 12 weeks gestation.A number of MPs and Peers we have spoken to have been amazed to hear how extreme our time limit is compared to many European Union countries. While it is rare for Lords Private Members’ Bills to become law, at a minimum, Baroness O’Loan’s Bill will ensure that the humanity of the unborn child is put firmly on the radar and debated extensively in Parliament, the media and wider society. This will help raise the profile on this issue and build further momentum for changes to our abortion legislation that will save the lives of unborn children. We have just published a magazine-style explainer article on our website that has much more detail on Baroness O’Loan’s Bill and why it is time to reduce the abortion time limit.I highly recommend having a look at this explainer article- so you are up to speed on the issue and the overwhelmingly strong case for lowering our time limit.

Click here to read the explainer article now for this article, we have used a magazine-style format. The idea with this format is to provide a more in-depth account of an issue, which is accessible and beautifully formatted with accompanying imagery and videos that bring the issue to life, in the style that you would see in a magazine or a long-form feature piece in the weekend edition of a major newspaper such at the Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph or Observer. This format allows us to go into much more depth on an issue than we do with our shorter news pieces on the Right To Life platform. Once you have read the piece, if you have a moment, it would be really helpful if you could share it with friends and family so they are aware of all the key facts and figures that demonstrate why it is time to reduce the time limit. Many thanks for all your help,Catherine RobinsonRight To Life UK

Dear Canon Kavanagh,I am making contact to ask you to urgently email your MP.Pro-abortion MPs, Stella Creasy and Diana Johnson, have tabled two extreme abortion up-to-birth amendments in an attempt to hijack the Government’s flagship Criminal Justice Bill. Both amendments propose removing offences that make it illegal to perform a self-abortion at any point right through to birth. Neither of the amendments outlines circumstances in which it would continue to be an offence to perform a self-abortion - the changes to the law would apply throughout all nine months of pregnancy and would not exclude sex-selective abortions. Stella Creasy’s amendment, if it became law, would also repeal Section 60 of the Offences Against the Person Act, which is currently used to make it illegal to hide the body of a dead newborn baby, including in circumstances when the baby has been killed through infanticide. These extreme changes to the law would likely lead to a tragic increase in the number of babies’ lives being ended through late-term abortions performed at home, as well as the lives of many more women being endangered. TAKE ACTION NOWWe have just launched an easy-to-use tool on our website that makes it simple for you to send an email to your MP asking them to oppose these amendments. Please click the button below to contact your MP now.
